Marshall County mountain bike team places seven on podiums

Claire Austin coming through the start/finish as rain began to fall, to begin another lap in the JV Girls race last Sunday in Frankfort, Ky. in the second race of the 2022 Kentucky Interscholastic Cycling League fall season.

Seven Marshall County riders stepped onto the podium at the end of the racing day. Presleigh Jennings took the win in Varsity Girls and Chase Binkley finished third in Varsity Boys. Claire Austin placed second in the JV Girls race and Eli Rudd was second in the Sophomore Boys race. Emma Roberts and Brady Atkins earned a Marshall County sweep in the Freshman Girls and Boys divisions and the final podium spot was claimed by Aiden Penn with third in 8th Grade Boys.

Full results and team standings are currently unavailable due to issues with the timing equipment and will be released when completed. The Marshall County team was first in team standings heading into Sunday’s race and McCracken County was second.

Race #3 of the season will be hosted by Marshall County at the Bo Beckett Memorial Trail (BBMT) at Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park on October 8-9. Teams will arrive on Saturday for pre-rides. Racing gets underway on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 9:30 am.
