Cross country runners take on Mad Marshal Dash

Marshall County cross country hosted the Mad Marshal Dash meet Thursday evening, a 3200-meter event that splits competitors into two groups. The groups begin in opposite directions, cross each other’s path on the course, then combine for the final push to the finish.

St. Mary’s Gabby Ault won the girls race in 12:43.55 and Austin Cavanaugh of Trigg County took the boys win in 10:35.55.

The top result for the Lady Marshals came from seventh grader Braelyn Spalding who finished in 15:34.13 followed by Addison McKinney finishing 23rd in 15:52.53.

Ethan McCarty crossed in sixth place in 11:07.27 for the top Marshals finish. Walker Jones was 12th with a time of 11:38.91 and Sawyer Collins finished 14th in 11:44.95. Daniel Walker finished 18th in 11:55.78 to place four runners inside the top 20.
