Christian Fellowship junior, Lillian Burnett, went over 1,000 career points with her first basket of the night in the Lady Eagles 47-32 win over Murray on Tuesday. It was a great night to earn her 1,000th point in the Lady Eagles first-ever district win over the Lady Tigers.

CFS played Murray eight times between 1998 and 2005 and this season is their first back in the 4th District since that time.

While Burnett was making history, Gracie Howard made her own mark with a 25-point game, including 3-for-3 from 3-point range and was perfect at the line as well going 4-for-4. Howard ranks ninth in the state in scoring, averaging 22.7 per game. Burnett scored 14 points and was just one rebound away from her 11th double-double of the season and ranks 28th in the state with an average of 10.5 per game.

CFS led by two points at 15-13 at the end of the first quarter, behind eight points from Burnett. Their lead doubled at halftime, 26-22 and they out-scored Murray 21-10 to win by 15.

The Lady Eagles begin play on Friday in the KCAC Tournament against North Hardin Classical with two more games in the tournament on Saturday.
