CFS tops Marshall to win wRECk at the Plex tournament

Christian Fellowship played five games over Friday and Saturday in Hopkinsville at wRECk at the Plex hosted by Christian County. Following a 3-1 loss to Marshall County on Thursday they turned the tables on Saturday, beating the Lady Marshals 2-1 in the championship after playing four games to get there.

In pool play on Friday, the Lady Eagles played Trigg County and Caldwell County, winning 2-0 in each match.

Saturday began with a 2-1 (24-26, 25-22, 7-15) loss to Heritage Christian Academy but they followed that up with a 2-1 (13-25, 25-23, 15-12) win over Christian Community School from White House, Tenn.  The Lady Eagles faced Marshall County in the championship game and won 2-1. CFS lost to the Lady Marshals in the first set 25-17 then won the next two 25-23 and 15-11.

Lillian Burnett led with 12 kills in the championship game, the junior also had 12 digs and five blocks. Cori Hood had five kills, four blocks and an ace. Rhema Howard led in assists with 16, in  digs with 15 and had two kills. Lillian Griggs finished with 11 digs and two aces. Gracie Howard two kills and four blocks and Jayden Jackson three aces.

The Lady Marshals played one game on Friday before Saturday’s championship, beating Todd County Central 2-1 (18-25, 25-18, 25-23).

Up next for the Lady Eagles is the First Region All “A” Classic on Saturday, Sept. 11. Opponent and time to be announced.
