LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE
- On Monday, May 6, 2024, around 6:08pm, Deputy David Carroll made a traffic stop on a 2005 Chevrolet Impala on US 62 West in Kuttawa. The driver was identified as Brian L. Coulbourn (37) of Marion. He was charged with Operating on a Suspended/Revoked Operator’s License, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia-Possession.
- On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, around 6:35pm, Deputy David Carroll and Kentucky State Police responded to a disturbance complaint in the 2000 block of KY 293. Upon arrival, Deputy Carroll arrested Joshua E. Harper (34) of Eddyville and charged him with Menacing. Harper was extremely under the influence of an unknown substance at the time of his arrest. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
- On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, around 8:30pm, Deputy Josh Travis answered a disturbance complaint in the 9500 block of KY 93 South. While conducting the investigation, it was discovered that a female at the residence was a wanted fugitive from the state of Illinois. Deputy Travis arrested Brandy M. Hodges (44) of Eddyville and charged her with being a Fugitive from Another State. She was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
- On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, just after 10:30am, Sheriff Brent White, Chief Deputy Sam Adams, and Eddyville PD were dispatched to a robbery complaint at the Lee S. Jones Park South of Eddyville. Sheriff White located a female victim who had arrived at the park to walk her dog. She reported a van pulled alongside of her parked vehicle before a passenger exited and broke her window out and stole her purse. The vehicle then fled the park.
Sheriff Brent White obtained witness descriptions of the suspects and vehicle which were relayed to KSP dispatch who in turn, broadcast this information to area law enforcement. Moments later a KSP CVE officer observed the suspect vehicle on I-24 in Lyon County. The vehicle was stopped in Marshall County. After attempting to detain the driver, a passenger moved to the driver’s seat and fled in the vehicle while the original driver fled on foot.
A lengthy vehicle pursuit into multiple counties by KSP and local law enforcement led to the LBL National Recreation Area in Trigg County, where a suspect later identified as Jermal L. Davis (27) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL was apprehended after a foot pursuit with the assistance of the Stewart County (TN) Sheriff’s Office K-9 team. The suspect vehicle and evidence tying the suspects to the incident in Lyon County was recovered.
At approximately 7:49pm, the Sheriff’s Office, KSP, and Lyon County EMS responded to a 9-1-1 call of a person on the side of I-24 just inside Lyon County near the Cumberland River bridge. The caller stated the subject appeared unconscious. Upon arrival, the subject was identified as Jovon D. Moss (34) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the original driver who fled on foot from the traffic stop in Marshall County. He was arrested without further incident.
Both offenders were charged with Complicity to Burglary-3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief-1st Degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking-Contents from Vehicle Over $500, and Possession of Burglary Tools. In addition, KSP charged both offenders with multiple offenses. Davis and Moss were lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank KSP, ROCIC, and all the law enforcement agencies who assisted in Lyon, Livingston, Marshall, McCracken, Trigg, and Stewart Counties.
- On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, around 11:40am, Sheriff White was returning to the courthouse with the above robbery victim when a man exited the courthouse cursing and causing a disturbance. Sheriff White detained the man and Chief Deputy Sam Adams arrested him. He was identified as Carmen C. Sette (49) of Eddyville. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree and lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
- On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, around 3pm, Deputy Michelle Kent responded to I-24 near the 36-mile-marker for a two-vehicle collision. Her investigation revealed a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by Justin T. Beard (46) of Paducah, lost control of his vehicle while attempting to pass another vehicle. Beard’s vehicle clipped the front of a 2004 Peterbilt semi driven by Troy J. Smith (55) of Peoria, IL. Neither driver reported any injuries.
- On Thursday, May 9, 2024, around 4pm, Sheriff Brent White charged Jermal L. Davis (27) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL with being a Fugitive from Another State. Davis was previously arrested for the incident at the Lee S. Jones Park the day before. Once his identity was confirmed, it was determined he had a warrant for his arrest out of Johnson County, KS where he is charged with the similar crimes of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle (2 counts) in which he failed to appear in court. The warrant was activated in December of 2023. Davis remains lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.
- On Friday, May 10, 2024, around 12:05pm, Sheriff Brent White investigated a two-vehicle collision on US 62 West in Kuttawa. His investigation revealed a 2013 Toyota Venza driven by Christina L. Odom (55) of Eddyville was entering US 62 from Mary Blue Road when she pulled into the path of an East bound 2023 GMC Sierra driven by Harold E. Hall (56) of Kuttawa. There were no injuries in the collision.
- On Friday, May 10, 2024, beginning around 12:30pm, deputies served the following offenders with warrants for their arrest:
- Na’ Shawn Mills (32), Louisville, charged with an Oldham Circuit Court indictment warrant for Promoting Contraband-1st Degree (Complicity) and Persistent Felony Offender-I
- Na’ Shawn Mills (32), Louisville, charged with a Jefferson District Court bench warrant for failure to appear in a traffic related case.
- Alexandria Logan (31), Harrodsburg, charged with Failure to Appear in Madison District Court on a Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card case.
- Emerson D. Kilburn (31), Sassafras, charged with Failure to Appear or Pay in Knott District Court stemming from a traffic related case.
- On Friday, May 10, 2024, around 9:50pm, Deputy Michelle Kent was dispatched to a two-vehicle, hit/run collision on US 641 at the intersection with White Dorroh Road. Her investigation revealed a 2016 Chevrolet pickup driven by Taylyn Williams (22) of Eddyville was stopped in traffic waiting to turn off US 641, when an unidentified yellow passenger car approached in the opposite direction and collided with the Williams vehicle. Following the impact, the yellow passenger car fled the scene.
