Velda K. Street, age 72, of Benton passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Lake Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Street was born in Hayti, Missouri on May 3, 1947 to the late Claude McLeod and Lena Henson McLeod. She was married to the late Frank D. Street. Velda worked cleaning homes before working 10 years in Court Security for Marshall County. She was a member of Eastern Star Alford-Hardin Masonic Lodge No. 925 and was of the Baptist faith.
She will be remembered by those who loved her as a loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and wife. Many friends will remember her as “Nanny” or “Gosie.”
Velda is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Minter (Ronnie) of Benton; three sons, Douglas “Keifer” Street, Frank D. “Sunman” Street (Beth), and Frank William “Pee Wee” Street (Sabrina), all of Benton; one brother, Earl McLeod (Karen) of Benton; and eleven grandchildren, Kristen McLeod of Las Vegas, NV, Sarah Mullins of Bullhead City, AZ, Keifer B. Street of Charlotte, NC, Andrew “Nuby” Aldridge of Benton, Tim “Piggy” Simpson of Benton, Homer “Keith” Humphrey of Benton, Tyler “Ty-Ty” Morehead of Benton, Shelby “Too Little” Colson of Benton, Whitney “Turtle” Street of Benton, Herbie “Raymond” Humphrey of Benton, and Matt Morehead of Benton; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Street; her parents; three sisters, Mary Lou Stewart, Sue Cooper, and Louise Woods; and seven brothers, George McLeod, Troy McLeod, Wayne McLeod, Jimmy McLeod, Louis McLeod, Jack McLeod, and Bobby McLeod.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2019 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr with Bro. Howard Connor and Bro. Chris Young officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2019 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr.
