Interstate 24/US 60 Paducah Exit 4 Interchange is open

The Interstate 24/US 60 Paducah Exit 4 Interchange is open and expected to remain open until after the July 4th Independence Day Holiday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and Jim Smith Contracting are in ongoing conversations about setting a closure date for US 60 and all ramps within the I-24 Paducah Exit 4 interchange. Engineers are looking at developing some strategies for reducing the length of the required closure. We anticipate providing a two week advance notice before the closure starts.

Motorists are reminded that there continues to be an active work zone along US 60 in the Mall area from Holt Road extending eastward through the Exit 4 interchange to near the Coleman Road intersection. This work zone has been active at night with some lane restrictions during daylight hours.

As mentioned in our earlier news release about plans to close ramps and the interchange for up to 6 weeks, engineers will attempt to provide as much advance notice as possible once the closure is scheduled, and provide as much information as possible about the ongoing work.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet attempts to be pro-active in sharing information about construction and maintenance activities along the 2,800 miles of state highways in KYTC District 1, as well as sharing information about emergency incidents along area highways that may impede traffic flow.
