BENTON – Despite the rain, the 172nd Tater Day Parade rolled up Benton’s Main Street to the delight of those braving the elements. The parade was delayed 30 minutes due to thunder and lightning but got underway at 11:30, led by Grand Marshal Dr. Robert McCrory.
Tater Day queens and kings were forced inside their convertibles with a couple braving the elements under umbrellas with the tops down along with antique cars, jeeps, politicians and horses to round out the shortened parade.
