Lady Marshals and Greenwood play to 0-0 draw

Lady Marshals freshman defender Chase Hill (11) in last week’s season-opener against Murray.

With the exception of Whitley Watwood, the Lady Marshals replaced all of their senior defenders and goalkeeper from last year’s squad that broke the program record in shut outs with 18, but in their first three games of the 2020 season, have only allowed one goal.

Saturday against reigning state champion Greenwood, a team that ended the Lady Marshals season in the first semi-state round of last year’s playoffs, they didn’t allow a single goal and the game finished in a 0-0 draw.

The defense passed the early season test against Greenwood’s total 25 shots compared to six for the Lady Marshals and sophomore goal keeper, Parker Perry, recorded 11 saves.

This week, they will play two away games, Tuesday against St. Mary and Thursday at Graves County.
