Griggs will continue baseball career at SIC

Cole Griggs was joined by his parents Lori and Chris Griggs and brother Gage at Friday’s signing at Marshall County High School.

Marshall County senior shortstop Cole Griggs signed Friday to continue his baseball career at Southeastern Illinois Community College in Harrisburg, Illinois.  Cole is expected to make an immediate impact at the plate and at shortstop for the Falcons who play in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference at the Division-1 level of NJCAA competition.

“Cole has had an outstanding career at MCHS”, Head Coach Rob McDonald said. “He hit .326 last year and drove in 26 runs and has been an anchor to our defense at short stop.”

Cole said he was impressed with the athletic and academic programs at SIC and liked what Head Coach Jeremy Irlbeck had to say adding, “I am excited about getting the chance to play baseball at SIC. It is a great school with a solid baseball team.”
