The first swim meet of the 2017-2018 season for the Marshall County team took place at Hopkinsville High School in the Rick Cohn Tiger Invitational and the team showed great early-season form, especially against Region 1 competitors. Clara Bradley set a new school record in the 50 meter freestyle in 26.87, breaking a 2006 record of 26.99 set by Kristen Jones.
The girl’s 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay teams placed fifth and third, ranking first among Region 1 teams at the meet. Members of both relay teams were Sofia Bayer, Mary Grace Thompson, Madelyn Travis and Clara Bradley. Bayer also had a strong ninth place finish in the 100 meter backstroke and Coleton Jones took fifth in the 100 meter freestyle.
The team will compete next on November 27th in the McCracken County Sprint Meet at the Paducah Athletic Club.
