GILBERTSVILLE – The Kentucky Sheriff’s Boys and Girls Ranch is in it’s 41st consecutive year serving boys and girls throughout Kentucky. Camps run through the summer from June 12th through July 22nd and is designed to build self-esteem, while teaching them respect for themselves, others and law enforcement.

Donations, such as those made Monday by Alton Cunningham with the Painters District Council 91 Local 500 out of Paducah and Perry Blades with Kentucky Laborers Local 1214, are what continue to fund the camp and make repairs, allowing it to continue to be free to the campers.

“Marshall County is very fortunate to have as our good friends and neighbors, the men and women of organized labor”, County Commissioner Rick Cocke said. “They are not only a trained and skilled workforce but always step forward as they did today with their donations to help The Sheriff’s Boys and Girls Ranch.”
