CALVERT CITY – The Orange Waves Swim Team has reached the midway point in their season with approximately 40 swimmers this year under new head coach Jenna Goins, a former member of the Orange Waves and the Marshall County High School swim team.

Their season began on June 9th with a home meet against Anna, IL followed by two meets in Herrin, IL, Anna, IL and Marion, KY.

The team competed at home on Thursday in a dual meet with Madisionville and will compete on Saturday at the Mt. Vernon Invitational.
They have won both of their home meets, sometimes less competitive due to the larger number of swimmers on the Orange Waves but according to Coach Goins, they still swim their hardest, enjoying the competition among teammates as well.

“Our first practice is made up of new and more inexperienced swimmers while the second practice is all veterans”, Goins said. “It’s a great group of kids who love to swim.”

The Orange Waves will finish their season on July 9th at home against Marion, KY, and July 11th at Marion, IL.
