Multi-agency drug trafficking investigation leads to arrest of four suspects, seizure of drugs, firearms and $40,000 cash

bustMCCRACKEN COUNTY – A three day multi-agency investigation lead by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department has resulted in the arrests of four individuals, the seizure of Crystal Methamphetamine, several firearms and approximately $40,000 in US currency, believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales.

On April 07, McCracken County Deputy Kyle Latta conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on I-24 near the 16 mile marker. During the course of the stop, Deputies Latta and Croft observed a plastic bag sticking out of the driver’s (Everette E. Tabor) shirt pocket that was found to contain Crystal Methamphetamine. Tabor was arrested.

Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle where they located a loaded 9mm handgun, digital scales used to weigh Methamphetamine, and more than $33,000 in US currency.

Then on April 8, detectives conducted a covert investigation in the parking lot of a business located at 10655 Blandville Road in McCracken County (at the US 62 and Ky Hwy 286 intersection).

Detectives arrested Joshua D. Burd and Kimberly A. Wright ( both from Fancy Farm) after they arrived on the parking lot of the business to meet a Sheriff’s Deputy (who was acting in an undercover capacity) to purchase a large quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine.

A search of their vehicle revealed methamphetamine, $5,990 in US currency, a false container, and a handgun. Detectives later located a plastic case with a magnet hidden under the vehicle that contained additional Methamphetamine packaged for sale, hydrocodone, oxycodone, and items of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation continued as a search warrant was obtained for Burd and Wright’s residence located at 1867 Rule Shack Road near Fancy Farm. Kentucky State Police Detectives and Graves County Sheriff’s Deputies searched the property and located an additional 112 grams of crystal Methamphetamine and additional firearms on the property.

The investigation continued to progress. During the early morning hours of April 9, McCracken County Sheriff’s Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at 2510 Bryan Road in southern McCracken Co. Detectives arrested Kenny A. Rodgers after seizing 74 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, assorted drug paraphernalia and 16 firearms that were in close proximity to drugs and paraphernalia. The investigation is continuing and additional arrests are likely.
