Eastbound Work Zone Lane Restriction on I-24 near 10mm in McCracken County Thursday & Friday

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict Interstate 24 eastbound traffic to one lane near the 10 mile marker on Thursday, May 23,2019.

This eastbound work zone along I-24 near the KY 1954/Husbands Road Interchange is to allow repairs to the median cable barrier near milepoint 10.5.

All eastbound traffic will move to the right-hand or driving lane in this work zone. The work is expected to be in place from approximately 8 a.m., to about 4 p.m., CDT, Thursday.

Additionally, an environmental contractor plans to be back at this same location on Friday to complete the clean-up of diesel fuel that spilled during a recent SEMI crash.  The environmental contractor expects to be working at the site for about 6 to 8 hours on Friday, weather permitting.

Eastbound motorists on I-24 should be prepared to encounter slowing and merging traffic as they approach this work zone.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and other personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
