Calvert City, KY (February 05, 2024) – On the afternoon of February 03, 2024 the Calvert City Police Department responded to a shoplifting complaint at the Family Dollar. The female had left the store but was still in the area. A traffic stop was performed on the vehicle and contact was made with the suspect. After being mirandized, the female admitted to taking the hair products and candy that totaled to $10.65. Abigail Elizabeth Mills, 28, of 661 Howards Grove Road, #33, Calvert City was arrested for theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting. The female was transported to the detention center. She was asked several times if she had anything on her person before entering the jail, to which she denied. Upon a search of her person by the jail staff, they found two containers in her underwear which contained marijuana roaches and pills. She received additional charges of promoting contraband 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree – drug unspecified, prescription controlled substance not in proper container 1st offense, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
