Multiple Arrests Reported in Marshall County

(MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky.) — Law enforcement officials have reported several arrests throughout the county over the past week involving charges ranging from drug possession to assault.

Drug Warrant Leads to Resisting Arrest Charge

On January 28, Justin Harper, 47, of Calvert City, was arrested on a criminal complaint warrant from Marshall District Court for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). According to authorities, Harper refused to comply with officers attempting to serve the warrant and was taken into custody following a brief altercation. Harper faces an additional charge of resisting arrest.

Also on January 28, Kristen Gore, 32, of Benton, was arrested at her residence on two outstanding bench warrants issued by Lyon County and Calloway County District Courts, both for failure to appear in court.

Assault and Terroristic Threatening Cases

Chris Sailer, 20, of Benton, was arrested January 27 after deputies responded to a disturbance call. Sailer was charged with fourth-degree assault.

On January 26, deputies responded to a complaint on Capp Springs Road involving a male armed with a knife. Matthew Barnes, 32, of Benton, was arrested and charged with menacing and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Traffic Stop Results in Arrest

During a traffic stop on January 23, deputies arrested Jeffery Nichols, 39, of Benton, who was found to have an outstanding indictment warrant from Marshall Circuit Court for flagrant non-support. Nichols was also cited for driving without insurance and expired registration.

Bench Warrant Served

On January 21, Thomas Rawling, 44, of Paducah, was served a bench warrant issued by McCracken District Court for failure to appear.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
