
(CALVERT CITY, Ky.)-The 7th Annual Preston Cope Memorial Golf Tournament returned this past Sunday, April 26th, to the Calvert City Country Club with ideal conditions and an outpouring of community spirit. With 24 teams taking to the course on a picture-perfect spring day, the annual event honored its namesake while bringing together players, sponsors, and supporters from across the region.
Clear skies and warm temperatures set the stage for a full day of competition at the Calvert City Country Club, and organizers described the turnout as one of the most memorable yet. The remarkable backing from local businesses and families was a standout feature of the day, with generous premier and hole sponsorships filling out the course from start to finish.
“It was an absolutely beautiful day,” Preston’s father Brian Cope noted, pointing to the community’s continued dedication to keeping Preston Cope’s memory alive through the sport he loved. The amazing support shown by area businesses and individuals made the event a true reflection of what this community is all about.
When the final scores were tallied, the team of (L-R)-Ryan Stokes, Cameron Brown, Kevin Stokes, and Joe Scholl claimed first place honors. They are pictured with Preston’s parents, Brian and Teresa Cope.
