Marshall County Fiscal Court Set to Address Parks, Docks, and Policy Changes

fiscal-court-2

(BENTON, Ky.)-The Marshall County Fiscal Court will convene on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. for a meeting packed with business ranging from recreational infrastructure to administrative policy.

Park Director Brian Harper is expected to kick off the session as a guest presenter, briefing the court on a crumb rubber grant — funding that typically supports playground or recreational surface improvements using recycled tire material.

From there, court members will turn to old business, including approval of minutes from the February 17th meeting and a review of bids submitted for a boat dock at Buckhorn Bay, signaling continued investment in the county’s waterfront recreational facilities.

The bulk of new business centers on several notable items. The court will hold a first reading of Ordinance 2026-01, an amendment to the Administrative Code. A second reading and vote will follow at a later meeting if the ordinance advances. The Parks Department is also seeking approval to surplus unneeded equipment or property.

Members will also discuss rescheduling upcoming fiscal court meetings and take up a conversation on scenic roadway designation — a topic that often touches on tourism, land use, and local identity.

The meeting will close with routine financial matters including the Treasurer’s Report, budget transfers, and payment of bills, before the court enters executive session to discuss litigation and personnel matters.
