Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Reports Multiple Arrests

(MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky.) — The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has announced several arrests made over recent weeks involving charges ranging from weapons possession to assault and drug-related offenses.

Weapon at School

On February 10, a Marshall County SRO observed a firearm and ammunition in the back of a student’s vehicle. Upon further investigation, the student had it in their vehicle with no intent of harm and was fully cooperative.  18-year-old Keaton Holland of Calvert City was arrested at Marshall County High School and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon on school property.

Assault on Elderly Victims

In one of the more serious incidents, 46-year-old Joshua Culp of Benton was arrested February 7 after deputies responded to a disturbance on Church Grove Road. According to authorities, Culp assaulted elderly residents at the location and subsequently made threats to kill officers upon his release from jail. He faces multiple charges including second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault, menacing, and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Drug Charges Involving Minor

Andrew Woodford, 32, of Benton was taken into custody February 6 following a disturbance call on Christian Fellowship Road. Deputies reported that Woodford was screaming and refusing to calm down. Authorities discovered he was in possession of illegal drugs, which he allegedly shared with a minor at the residence. Woodford also reportedly made threats toward officers during his arrest. He was charged with unlawful transaction with a minor, disorderly conduct, marijuana possession, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Warrant Arrests

Several other arrests were made on outstanding warrants:

  • February 9: Jonathan Russell, 22, of Hardin was arrested at his residence on a bench warrant from Trigg County Circuit Court for contempt of court.
  • February 4: Cody Griffin, 33, of Gilbertsville was arrested at his residence on a bench warrant from Muhlenberg County District Court for failure to pay fines.
  • February 4: Justin Harper, 47, of Benton was served an arrest warrant from Lyon County Court for failure to appear.
  • January 30: Christian Williams, 32, of Hickory was arrested on a bench warrant from Graves County Court for failure to appear.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
