(BENTON, Ky.) — Motorists in Marshall County face two separate road disruptions this week as crews work to address infrastructure issues.
A water main break has prompted a lane closure at the intersection of East 14th Street and Birch Street in Benton, with repairs ongoing as of Sunday. The closure affects Kentucky Route 1445/East 14th Street near mile point 3.5, and officials have not provided an estimated completion time for the work.
Drivers are urged to watch for signage and proceed with caution when traveling through the area.
Meanwhile, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has announced a temporary road closure scheduled for Tuesday in another part of Marshall County. Highway maintenance crews plan to close a section of KY 1949 between KY 408 and Woodall Cut-Off Road for cross drain repairs.
The closure will affect the area between the 8- and 9-mile markers on KY 1949. Work is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., weather permitting, and motorists are asked to plan alternate routes during that time.
