(BENTON, Ky.) — The Marshall County Fiscal Court will convene for a special called meeting on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Marshall County Courthouse.

The meeting will begin with approval of minutes from the October 21st regular session before magistrates turn their attention to a full agenda of new business items.

Key Agenda Items

County officials will consider the County Clerk’s claim for preparing tax bills, a routine annual expense associated with processing property tax statements for Marshall County residents.

The court will also make several board appointments, though specific positions and nominees were not detailed in the agenda.

A significant item on the docket includes consideration of a resolution regarding program income and revenue related to a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) housing grant. Such grants typically fund affordable housing initiatives and community development projects.

Personnel and Financial Matters

Magistrates will review a new hire request, along with a training incentive proposal for the county jailer. The court will also examine the treasurer’s report and consider budget transfers before approving payment of outstanding bills.

The meeting is expected to include an executive session to discuss litigation and personnel matters, which are allowed to be conducted in closed session under Kentucky’s Open Meetings Act.

The Marshall County Fiscal Court consists of the county judge-executive and elected magistrates representing the county’s districts. The court serves as the county’s primary legislative and policy-making body, responsible for budgeting, personnel decisions, and local governance matters.

The meeting is open to the public, with the exception of the executive session portion.
