Katie Roberts signs to play golf for Austin Peay State University

Katie Roberts signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her golf and academic career at Austin Peay University in Clarksville, Tenn. Austin Peay State University is a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Katie has been an important part of the Lady Marshals golf team for six years. This past season, Katie’s low score was a 67 at Western Hills Golf Course. She won medalist honors at the Hopkinsville Invitational and finished second at the Paducah Tilghman Invitational, Lady Rocket Invitational and Graves County Invitational.

Katie shot 77 and 72 respectively at the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association (KGCA) All-State Championship at the Big Blue and Wildcat courses at the University of Kentucky to finish fourth place and help lead the Lady Marshals to a fourth-place team finish.

This past season, Katie qualified for the KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Championships, made KGCA First Team All-State, All-Region Team and finished the regular season with a 74 average.

Katie has been an integral part of a successful golf program at Marshall County. She’s a member of six consecutive Region Championship teams, two State-Runner Up teams and two State Championship teams. She has numerous individual accolades in her career including a third-place finish in 2023 at the KHSAA Substate round, All-Region team for three years and KHSAA Second Team All-State in 2022 and 2023. She has been a participant of the AJGA Mason Cup the past three years and a Notah Begay Regional Qualifier in 2022.

“It’s been a joy to watch Katie grow as a golfer over the years”, said Head Coach Valerie Waller. “Katie has left such a positive impact on this golf program and she will be greatly missed, but we are so excited to see her play at the next level. It’s nice to see her hard work and determination pay off to allow her the opportunity to continue her athletic and academic career at the next level. We look forward to seeing her do great things at Austin Peay.”
