The Marshals soccer team finished off their regular season over the last week against three opponents out of Region 2. On Saturday they lost 2-1 to Henderson County, Monday beat University Heights 2-1 and Thursday won 4-1 over Webster County. They finish the regular season with a record of 8-9-2 and 2-6 in the 2nd District.
District tournament games get underway on Monday when the Marshals take on Graves County at 7:30 in Mayfield. The winner will advance to the semi-finals against #1 seed Murray on Tuesday at 7:30. The other semi-final between Calloway County and Mayfield will be played on Wednesday with the title game on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7:30.
In the 2-1 loss to Henderson County (12-3-4), Davis Hunt scored the Marshals lone goal while goalkeeper Carson Lovett had six saves.
On Monday in their 2-1 win over University Heights (12-7-0), the Marshals two goals were scored by Jaxon Bishop and Isaac Reynolds. Assists went to Tommy Robertson and Houston Johnson. Lovett had eight saves.
In the regular season finale 4-1 win over Webster County (8-9-2), Robertson scored two goals and a goal each was scored by Hunt and Owen Staley. Assists went to Bishop, Lincoln Colburn and John Shadowen. Lovett recorded four saves.
