Calvert City, KY (September 25, 2023) – On September 18, 2023 an officer observed a vehicle traveling at what appeared to be a high rate of speed westbound on US Highway 62. Radar confirmed the vehicle was traveling at 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. A traffic stop was initiated and Rodney Wayne Walker, 46, of , Calvert City was charged with speeding 15 mph over limit, no registration receipt, no registration plates, failure to produce insurance card, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On September 20, 2023 Marshall County Central Dispatch gave out a BOLO of a white Dodge Charger with black racing stripes traveling east on I-24 coming into Marshall County. Several calls were received that reported the suspect vehicle driving recklessly at excessive speeds and passing vehicles on the shoulder of the roadway. An officer was in the area observing for the vehicle, and observed the vehicle in questions, which was a Dodge Challenger. Radar confirmed the vehicle was traveling at 125 mph in a 70 mph zone. The vehicle merged onto I-69 South and was observed by a Marshall County Sheriff’s Office deputy traveling at a high rate of speed and passing other vehicles on the inside and outside shoulder of I-69. A traffic stop was initiated and James Nathanael White, 30, of , Jonesboro, GA was arrested for speeding 26 mph or > speed limit and reckless driving.
On September 23, 2023 officers responded to a residence on Apricot Avenue in reference to a call received about suspicious activity. Upon contact with the resident, she was found to be barricaded in the residence and stated that she was armed. The Calvert City Police Department was assisted on scene by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Marshall County Special Response Team. Sophia May Strange, 42, of Calvert City was arrested on a McCracken County Warrant for theft by unlawful taking or disp all others $1,000 < $10,000. She was taken into custody without incident.
On September 23, 2023 officers observed a subject known to have two warrants outside of the Fivestar on US Highway 62. Contact was made with Jordan Scott Wadsworth, 33, of Calvert City and he was arrested on two Crittenden County Warrants for failure to appear. Upon arrest, multiple drug related items were found to be in his possession. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, 2 counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance 2nd degree – drug unspecified, and prescription controlled substance not in proper container 1st offense.
