TRAIN COLLIDES WITH PICKUP TRUCK

collision-2

On 06-02-2023 at 7:11 a.m. the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2600 block of Krebs Station Road in reference to a train that had struck a pickup truck. This occurred at the railroad crossing, just west of Husband Road.

The investigation showed an inbound P&L Railroad train was passing through the intersection.  The traffic control devices at the railroad crossing were activated at the time (audible bell and flashing red lights).

Ryan Green (39) of Paducah was operating a 2014 GMC pickup, westbound on Krebs Station Road. Green traveled through the intersection and was struck by the inbound train.

Green was extricated from the vehicle by Hendron Fire Department and transported to a local hospital for treatment of incapacitating injuries.

Green was issued a citation for Disregarding Railroad Crossing Flasher Lights.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Hendron Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance, Jason’s Collision Center and P&L Railroad.
