    WCCK, RUDD HONORED BY KCMA

    (CALVERT CITY, Kentucky)-The Kentucky Country Music Association has awarded WCCK 95.7 FM as “Station of the Year.”  The award was presented to Jim Freeland, owner/operator and employees of Freeland Broadcasting, Inc. for WCCK’s “continued commitment to Country Music and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”

    KCMA CEO/Founder Ken Reynolds said, “WCCK exemplifies what radio should be.  Entertainment with the best music and local news, sports and interests of the community!”

    WCCK Program Director and morning personality Andy Rudd also received “Disc Jockey of the Year” from the KCMA.  Rudd stated, “I want to thank Jim, Sherry and the staff of Freeland Broadcasting as well as Ken and the KCMA!  I am honored to receive this recognition and look forward to our continued pledge to serve our listening area with local programming and the best Country Music between here and the Ryman.”

    Freeland talked of his time owning the station, “l have always had the notion that this radio station is a gem.  Since we purchased WCCK in 2000, we have continually and intentionally worked to bring the best programming around to our listeners and I am so very appreciative of the KCMA for awarding both the station and Andy for these efforts!”

    WCCK 95.7 FM carries classic country hits as well as Marshall County High School Soccer, Lyon County High School Basketball, Baseball and Softball.  The station is also “The Exclusive Voice of the NASCAR CUP SERIES” in the Lakes Area.
