Two Charged With Fentanyl Trafficking

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people Thursday afternoon in McCracken County and charged them with trafficking in Fentanyl.

The investigation began on 04/18/2023 when detectives received information that 18-year-old Rachel Lloyd was selling Fentanyl capsules. Detectives contacted Lloyd and arranged to make a Fentanyl pill purchase from Lloyd in McCracken County. Lloyd and a man later identified as 26-year-old Martin Monk arrived and sold detectives five suspected Fentanyl capsules.

On 04/20/2023 detectives purchased 20 additional Fentanyl capsules from the couple in the parking lot of a business located 5353 Cairo Road in Paducah. Both Monk and Lloyd were arrested immediately after the sale took place on the parking lot.

The investigation revealed that the couple had a motel room in Metropolis. Detectives contacted the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force who obtained a search warrant for the couple’s hotel room 2119 E 5th Street in Metropolis. During the search of the room detectives located additional Fentanyl capsules and a small amount of Marijuana.

Both Monk and Lloyd were lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Arrested: Martin S. Monk 26, of Maxon Road  (McCracken County, KY)

Charges: Trafficking in Fentanyl, no registration plates and no registration receipt

 

Arrested: Rachael N. Lloyd 18 of Metropolis, IL

Charges: Trafficking in Fentanyl
