Hotel Investigation Nets Two Arrests

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people during a drug investigation at a Paducah hotel Monday night.

On 11/28/2022 detectives received information alleging that illegal drug activity was taking place at a Paducah Hotel located at 5125 Cairo Road in Paducah, KY.  Detectives began conducting surveillance on the hotel at 630pm. Minutes later, detectives observed a drug deal take place on the parking lot. A vehicle involved in the transaction was stopped as it left the hotel. The driver of the vehicle, Keiana Baird of Paducah, was arrested after a search of the vehicle revealed 10 Fentanyl pills and a quantity of Marijuana.

Detectives then obtained a search warrant for the hotel room that was involved in the drug transaction. The search warrant was executed just after 930pm. Austin Hayes was stopped and arrested as he tried to leave the hotel room. During a search of Hayes’ person detectives located Marijuana and Cocaine. During a search of the hotel room detectives located approximately 100 Fentanyl pills, Marijuana, and money believed to be proceeds of illegal drug trafficking.

Austin Hayes was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail. Hayes was on probation at the time of arrest for underlying drug offenses.

Arrested:  Keiana Baird 26, of McGuire Ave (Paducah)

Charges: Failure to signal, operating on a suspended license, possession of Fentanyl, possession of Marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia

Arrested: Austin Hayes 24, of Burnett Street (Paducah)

Charges: Trafficking in Fentanyl 2nd offense, trafficking Cocaine 2nd offense, possession of Marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia
