Theft Investigation Yields Two Arrest

On 09/20/2022 the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Reidland Community to investigate a stolen vehicle. While investigating the theft, it was learned that a 1998 Jeep Cherokee and two RAD electric bikes had been stolen from the parking lot of a local business. The owner of the local business also reported that a motor home had been broken into and the ignition had been tampered with.

On 09/21/2022, Officers with the Princeton Police Department located the stolen Jeep in the parking lot of a local business. During their investigation, Steven Hays and Dawn Morgan of ST. Louis, MO were arrested.

Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office traveled to Princeton KY to conduct interviews. During the interviews, it was reported that Hays and Morgan had traveled to McCracken County, KY in a stolen box truck from ST. Louis, MO. It was reported that the stolen box truck had been left on the parking lot of a local business in McCracken County. It was also reported that the electric bikes had been dumped in the parking lot of another local business. Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office were able to recover the electric bikes and the stolen box truck.

Steven Hays and Dawn Morgan were both served arrest warrants on 09/21/2022.
