The Graves County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest earlier this month for Steven A. Davis, 33 of Fulton, for a burglary that occurred in 2021.
On May 4, 2021, Deputy Chandler Sirls responded to a residence off of Tucker Road just south of Mayfield. The resident at this location reported to Deputy Sirls that his garage had been entered by an unknown person or persons and his Dodge Ram truck that he parked inside the garage was missing. The Dodge Ram had been recovered on KY 1710 just a short time before the victim reported it stolen.
Deputy Sirls and Detective Jamie Clark collected several items of evidence from the garage and the truck. Items collected included possible DNA evidence.
In early September of 2022, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Forensic Laboratory completed testing on the items that were submitted by the Sheriff’s Office. The KSP Lab was able to positively identify a suspect in the burglary and theft as Steve A. Davis. Deputy Sirls obtained an arrest warrant for Davis for Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Receiving Stolen Property over $10,000.
Davis was located in Paducah by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office on September 13, 2022. He was arrested on the above charges and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
