Joining WCBL’s Chris Freeland recently on Coffee Call were Jessica Scillian and Director Todd Riley from the Benton Gas System. One thing that both Scillian and Riley stressed was to be sure you call 811 before you do any digging on your property, even if it’s something as simple as putting in a new mailbox. This will not only protect you but will also keep you from being charged for the damage you might cause to a gas line. You can also schedule someone to come mark the gas lines by going to kentucky811.org. Scillian says to contact Benton Gas for new construction or if you need new service for gas heat, gas logs, dryer, grill, cook stove or gas water heater. And current gas rates should stay close to level over the next 3 years. And if you own your home and have lived there for at least 12 months, you can sign up for budget billing that starts in October. Call Benton Gas at 270-527-3717.
