Central Road in Graves County to close starting Wednesday, August 7

PADUCAH, Ky. (August 6, 2019) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close a section of Central Road in Graves County starting Wednesday, August 7, 2019.

Central Road will be closed at the construction corridor for the New KY 80 Bypass along the south edge of Mayfield.  The contractor will adjust the elevation of Central Road and install appropriate drainage for a new intersection as part of ongoing construction.  Central Road is expected to remain closed at this site for approximately one week.

There will be no marked detour.

When Central Road reopens around August 14th, traffic will be running on a gravel surface while work continues along this section of the New KY 80 Mayfield Bypass.

Construction of the New KY 80 Bypass runs along the south edge of Mayfield from KY 303 extending westward to connect to Interstate 69 at the Mayfield Exit 21 interchange.

Jim Smith Contracting is the prime contractor on this $14.2 million project.  The target completion date for the KY 80 Mayfield Bypass is November 15, 2020.
