About 1,500 West Kentucky Rural Electric Cooperative members in the Gilbertsville area will be affected by a scheduled power outage on Saturday night, May 5. The outage will begin around midnight and is expected to last no longer than two hours.
Generally, members affected are those located in Gilbertsville, along the Interstate 24 and U.S. Hwy 62 interchange, Kentucky Dam State Park and surrounding areas.
Affected members will receive an automated phone call from WKRECC.
According to a release, the outage is necessary to replace equipment in the Gilbertsville Substation to ensure future reliability. WKRECC apologized for the inconvenience.
