Marshall County native Kaleb Lee will perform tonight in hopes of advancing on NBC’s “The Voice.”

UPDATE: Kaleb Lee advanced to the top 12 Wednesday night after viewer voting. He will perform Monday on NBC.

Kaleb Lee Scharmahorn fans will have a short window to show their support tonight (April 18) when he takes the stage in hopes of advancing on NBC’s “The Voice.”

Scharmahorn — the Marshall County native known to millions as simply Kaleb Lee — performed Patty Lovelace’s “You Don’t Even Know Who I Am” Monday night as part of coach Kelly Clarkson’s team. On Wednesday, while Kaleb was in the studio, wife Meagan said her husband is ready for the journey’s next step.

“I think he’s excited and ready to show off another country song tonight,” Meagan said. “Obviously something like this brings a lot of nerves for everybody.”

Meagan said she has been flying back and forth between the couple’s Florida home and NBC’s production site in Los Angeles to cheer on Kaleb. In addition to family traveling with him, thousands of fans in western Kentucky have shown their support, displaying banners and yard signs and holding watch parties. A 2004 Marshall County High School graduate, Kaleb recently thanked Benton Elementary School students via his Facebook page for their encouragement.

“There’s very few moments in life that you get to witness firsthand how much people care about you, and what’s going on in your life,” Meagan said. “I’m from Indiana, he’s from Kentucky and we live in Florida, but there’s people throughout the country — people we don’t even know — that are supporting him and encouraging him throughout his journey. It’s been a huge blessing and a wonderful season in our lives.”

Meagan said downloading The Voice’s app will allow supporters to cast up to 10 votes in Kaleb’s favor.

“During Team Kelly’s performances — it’s a 20 minute window — they can give Kaleb up to 10 votes,” Meagan said. “They can give him one vote through Twitter by [tweeting] #VoicePlayoffsKaleb. It’s a short window. People on Monday said they missed it. It’s only when Team Kelly’s five performers are singing their songs, that’s the only time they can vote for him.”

Kaleb’s father Joe Scharmahorn, who was also in LA on Wednesday, said viewers can cast their vote at any time during the team’s time on stage.

“They don’t have to wait until he performs,” Scharmahorn said. “As soon as Team Kelly starts, they can start voting.”

If Kaleb receives enough votes, he will perform again as one of the top 12 finalists on April 23.
