Troopers arrest two after chase through Marshall, Calloway

Two Paducah residents are facing charges after police say they led law enforcement on a two-county pursuit.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers were working Thursday, Nov. 23 in Marshall County when they observed as Chevy Camaro speeding south on U.S. 641. The vehicle, which troopers clocked at 89 mph in a 55 mph zone, accelerated when troopers attempted to engage and continued driving into Calloway County.

According to KSP, troopers followed the driver to a residence on Charley Miller Road in Calloway County. The driver, Jarru R. Cavitt, and his passenger, Tia Riley, both of Paducah, were arrested without further incident.

Cavitt was charged on suspicion of carrying a concealed deadly weapon; no registration plates; no insurance; speeding 25 mph or more; possession of marijuana; first-degree wanton endangerment 1st police; reckless driving; three counts of second-degree wanton endangerment; possession of drug paraphernalia; operating on suspended or revoked license; possession of open container; first-degree fleeing or evading; and littering.

Riley was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both subjects were taken to the Calloway County jail.
