Lady Marshals complete 4th District sweep in 23-3 win over Calloway

Gracey Murt was 3 for 3 at the plate against Murray with a single, two doubles and three RBIs.

MURRAY – Twelve batters combined for 19 hits in the Lady Marshals 23-3 four inning win over Murray Tuesday. Led by Addie Young’s home run in the top of the fourth inning and five RBI’s, Gracey Murt’s two doubles and three RBI’s and Cayson Conner’s triple and three RBI’s.

The Lady Marshals exploded for 13 runs in the fourth inning, scoring those runs on a double by Murt, single from Conner, error, Young’s home run, singles by Pracilla Stamper and Savannah Hairgrove, McKenzie Elkins was hit by a pitch, ground out by Shelby Wadkins and double by Sarah Stokes.

Gabbi Lovett got the win in four innings on the mound, allowing seven hits, two earned runs and striking out two.

The 14-12 Lady Marshals will head to Owensboro Friday to play in the two-day Owensboro Catholic Classic where they will take on Hancock County, Webster County, Mercy and Boyle County.
