Construction Haul Crossing along US 68/KY 80 starting THIS WEEK

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to establish a
construction haul truck crossing along the US 68/KY 80 construction corridor west of
Cadiz in Trigg County starting THIS WEEK.

As part of the reconstruction of US 68/KY 80 between Cadiz and Canton, the
contractor plans to move excess material from the north side of US 68/KY 80 for use
as fill along the the construction corridor on the south side of the existing
highway. This will require industrial haul trucks to cross the existing section of
US 68/KY 80 between the KY 272/Old Canton Pike intersection at mile point 14.767 and
the KY 1489/Blue Springs Road intersection at mile point 15.268.

Flaggers will be present at the crossing point to facilitate the safe movement of
haul trucks and highway traffic. While the location of this construction haul
crossing may move from time to time it is expected to be in place along this mile
section for about a month.

Motorists should be alert for slowing and stopped traffic as they approach this haul
truck crossing. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and
construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Rogers Group, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $54.2 million project to
construct a new 4-lane highway between Cadiz and Canton roughly paralleling the
existing roadway from the intersection of U.S. 68-Business at Cadiz extending to the
east end of the New Lake Barkley Bridge at Canton-a distance of about 8 miles. The
target completion date is November 30, 2019.

Rogers Group is also the prime contractor on a $25.5 million design-build project to
construct additional lanes along a 2-lane section of U.S. 68/KY 80 around the
southern edge of Cadiz. The project started in May 2015 and is about 25 percent
complete.
