Secretary Grimes Reminds Businesses of June 30 Deadline to File Annual Reports

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 2, 2016) - Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes is
reminding businesses in Kentucky that they must file an annual report with the
Secretary of State's office and pay a $15 filing fee no later than June 30. The
requirement applies to all entities authorized to do business in the Commonwealth.

Businesses that are already registered can immediately obtain pre-populated 2016
annual reports by visiting the Secretary of State's website,
sos.ky.gov<file:///C:\Users\cjackson\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary%20Internet%20Files\Content.Outlook\DPZT2A03\sos.ky.gov>.
The online reports include information generated from businesses' previous filings.
Grimes encourages businesses to file reports
online<https://app.sos.ky.gov/ftsearch/?path=ftarp>.

"In 2015, the majority of annual report filings were submitted online, which saves
both businesses and the state time and money," said Grimes. "This year, more than
half of registered businesses have already filed their annual reports and more than
70 percent have filed online. It takes just a couple of minutes to view your report,
make any necessary changes, and file it."

Businesses may also file their annual reports and pay in person at the Secretary of
State's office or via U.S. mail.

The filing requirement applies to the more than 200,000 corporations, limited
liability companies, partnerships, limited liability partnerships, business trusts
and professional service corporations registered in Kentucky. All businesses have
been sent reminders.

The Secretary of State's office emails businesses with addresses on file
notifications of any changes or filings made for the business, which may help detect
attempted business identity theft. For more resources to protect your business,
visit the Secretary of State's
website<http://www.sos.ky.gov/bus/business-filings/Pages/default.aspx>.

Businesses that fail to file their annual reports by June 30 will be listed in bad
standing with the office and receive a final 60-day notice. Failure to comply with
the 60-day notice results in administrative dissolution of the business or
revocation of authority to do business in Kentucky.
