Burglary
On 6-14-2015 Deputy Dan Melone responded to a residence on Sharpe School Road in reference to a burglary of a garage. The resident stated that someone had entered his garage and removed two motorcycles.
Deputy Melone, while conducting the investigation, was able to identify a suspect for the burglary. Deputy Melone, along with Deputy Howell went to a residence in the Sharpe area and spoke with the suspect, Daniel Wiles. Deputy Melone located the two stolen motorcycles behind Wiles residence and Wiles was placed under arrest.
Daniel Wiles, age 21 was lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center on a charge of Burglary 3rd degree. There was also a juvenile charged in the case. The stolen motorcycles were returned to the owner. The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.
DUI
On June 12th, 2015 Deputy William Strader was dispatched to Murray Hwy in reference to a possible accident with injuries. Deputy Strader arrived and found Harold D. Henson 62, of Hardin. Henson admitted to operating the vehicle when it went into the ditch. Henson appeared to be unsteady on his feet and confused.
A strong smell of mouthwash was present on his breath. Henson admitted to using mouthwash prior that morning but had not consumed alcoholic beverages. Henson was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, No Registration Plates and Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance.
