Marshals prepare to defend regional golf titles

In their final regular season tune-up before post-season play, the Marshals played against Murray and Calloway County at Murray Country Club which is the site of Monday’s regional tournament.

Marshall County took the win with a team score of 151, Murray was second with 174 and Calloway County finished with 185.

Trey Wall led the Marshals with a 2-under par 34 followed by David Jack Morris at 38, Jay Nimmo shot 39, Camdyn McLeod carded 40 and Preston Futrell 43. Hayden Powell played as an individual and shot 43.

Jonah Morgan led Murray with a 5-over round of 41, Grant Whitaker and Jack Epperson each shot 42, Tucker Blane finished with 49 and Kyle Crady shot 52.

Calloway County was led by Caleb Ticknor and Micah Koenecke with 45’s, Tanner Crouch shot 46 and Aidan Poston finished with 49.

The Marshals are the defending 1st Region Champions and will be aiming for a three-peat. Nimmo is the two-time defending individual champion and will be playing for a possible third straight title on Monday.
