It was a double-header sweep for the Lady Marshals and Marshals at St. Mary on Tuesday.

Up first, the girls won 8-0, the first goal coming from Kallen Fuller near the 27 minute mark in the quarter. Three more goals followed Fuller’s in the first half from Peyton Lamb, Jen Devore and Kinsley Perry to lead 4-0 at halftime.

Fuller scored her second goal of the night, again near the 27 minute mark of the second half. Once again, followed by three more goals from Mia Teague on an assist by Devore, Katelynn Ringstaff on a Fuller assist and Lamb with her second goal of the game for the 8-0 win.

The Lady Marshals dominated possession, taking 47 shots in the game and holding the Lady Vikings to just three. St. Mary goalkeeper Anistyn Thomas had a busy night with 22 saves. Marshall County keeper Parker Perry and Phoebe Ramsey each had one save.

In 2018, the Marshals defeated St. Mary 11-1, but last season under the direction of former Marshall County player Blaine Skeen, the Marshals escaped with a 2-1 decision. Tuesday’s game was scoreless through the 25th minute of the second half when William Lynch put the Marshals on the board for his eighth goal in five games. Jase Strader scored to make it a 2-0 game which held until the final whistle.

Marshall County out-shot St. Mary 24-9, 15 of those on goal. The Vikings had five shots on goal with keeper Ben Burkeen getting the shutout. St. Mary keeper Jack Bell had 12 saves on the night.

The Marshals beat John Hardin 6-2 on Saturday. The eight goals came from Lynch (2), Kiefer Court, Nick Mighell, Eric Hicks and Pratik Pratel. Burkeen had four saves.

The Marshals improve to 5-0 and the Lady Marshals to 3-0-1 after the St. Mary wins. In their first four games, the Lady Marshals have out-scored their opponents 20-1 and the Marshals in their five games, 27-2. They will play a district double-header at Graves County on Thursday. The girl’s game getting underway at 5:30.
