Trinity Beth’s 2-under par 70 and Savannah Howell’s 1-under 71 led the Lady Marshals to a first place finish in the Marshall County Invitational on Saturday at Calvert City Country Club. Their team score of 299 (+11) gave them the 19-stroke win over second place South Warren with 318 (+30).
Beth finished second, one stroke behind medalist Kate Hanni from Ashland Blazer High School who shot 2-under 69. Howell finished tied at third with South Warren’s Faith Martin.
Rounding out team scores for the Lady Marshals, Megan Mertter finished tied at fifth with 76, Katie Roberts 16th at 82 and Elsie Riley shot 86 to finish 26th. Sarah Umbarger played as an individual and finished with 89 for 38th place.
Up next for the Lady Marshals is the Bowling Green Invitational at Bowling Green Country Club on Saturday.
