Marshals win Hopkins County Central Invitational

A team score of 297 gave the Marshals the win by three strokes over St. Mary (300) at Saturday’s Hopkins County Central Invitational at Madisonville Country Club. Third went to Greenwood just a stroke back of St. Mary at 301.

Jay Nimmo was the individual medalist with a 3-under par 68, taking the win with a birdie on the final hole. Nimmo edged out St. Mary’s Rocco Zakutney by one stroke and third went to Jakob Wellman of Owensboro Catholic and Jackson Hill of Madisonville-North Hopkins, both with rounds of 70.

Making up the team score following Nimmo’s 68, Trey Wall shot 73, Preston Futrell and David Jack Morris both with rounds of 78 and Camdyn McLeod finished with 88.

The Marshals are back in action today at the Wayne County Invitational in Monticello, Ky.
