Overnight storms produce power outages, some damage

Storms that rolled through the area through the night left many homes without power and according to Marshall County Emergency Management, the Benton Walmart is currently closed due to storm damage and water. A few road closures were reported and some have reopened. Here is a list of current closures according the Kentucky Transportation Department:

KY 1949/Wadesboro Road is CLOSED at the 7.3mm at the I-69 Tunnel Underpass- signs posted.
KY 1462/Benton-Birmingham Road is CLOSED at the 1.3mm at the Clarks River Bridge- signs posted.
KY 408/Oak Level Road is closed in the 1500 Block due to downed power lines- Estimated Duration is 2 hours.

The National Weather Service in Paducah issued a Tornado Warning for central Marshall County early this morning at 5:45 am after spotting a severe thunderstorm moving 60 mph that was capable of producing a tornado. The warning expired at 6:15 am.

A Flash Flood Warning is issued by NWS Paducah today, Jan. 11 until 1:15 pm.
