Lady Marshals open season at Shelby County Invitational

The Lady Marshals teed the ball up at the Shelby County Invitational at Weissinger Hills Golf Course, to open the 2019 season and placed fifth among the field of 20 teams with a team score of 336. Lexington Christian Academy won the Invitational with 305 followed by Madison Central in second with 308 and Sacred Heart third with a team score of 315.

Mattie Neely of Madison Central fired a 1-under par 71 to win medalist honors. Savannah Howell led the way for the Lady Marshals with a 2-over par 74 to finish tied for sixth individually among 108. Following Howell, Megan Hertter shot 77, Kenley Luksic 87, Sarah Umbarger 98 and Elsie Riley 100.
