CFS qualifies three for state cross country meet

At Saturday’s Region 1 Class 1A meet in Owensboro, Christian Fellowship qualified three of their five cross country athletes for the KHSAA State Cross Country Championships. Coach Stepheni Bivin said this is the first time in the five years she has coached cross country that CFS has competed with a full team of five runners.

CFS finished seventh in the meet with all five runners setting new personal records. The top finish came from Andrew Allen in 11th with a time of 19:28.03. Mikey Bivin placed 14th in 19:34.93 and Boaz Burnett placed 15th in 19:35.08. All three will compete on Saturday, Nov. 3 in the state meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The boy’s Class 1A race begins at 9:30 am (EST).

Finishing out the CFS team results, Isaac Hovekamp 45th (22:48.07) and Brian Sibley 50th (24:13.49)
