The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Heat Advisory in effect until 5 pm this afternoon for the entire area.
The heat index is expected to be at or above 105 degrees by this afternoon.
NWS says heat illnesses are possible. They are advising that you drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives, neighbors, and pets.
The above normal temperatures are expected to stick around for at least the next 7 days, according to NWS.
