DRAFFENVILLE – The Lady Marshals picked up wins Friday over Calloway County and Monday over Trigg County to improve their record to 14-9.
In their 5-3 win over Calloway County, the Lady Lakers got on the board first in the 4th inning before the Lady Marshals took the lead, scoring 3 runs in the 5th inning off the bat of Abby Fiessinger who hit a double. Calloway tied the game in the bottom of the 5th on a 2-run double by Adyson Scott.
The tie game forced an extra inning that the Lady Marshals took advantage of, scoring on a single by Fiessinger and single by Addie Young.
Briley English went the distance, pitching 8 innings, striking out the tying run swinging for the final out of the game.

The Lady Marshals topped Trigg County on Monday, winning 11-0 in 6 innings on 15 hits. Leading 5-0 after 4 innings, the Lady Marshals put together a 6-run 6th inning on a 2-run double by Payton Smothers, RBI singles by Young, Kenslie Cross and English with Cross scoring the 6th on an error.
Their 5-0 4th inning lead came by way of an RBI doubles by Fiessinger in the 1st inning and again in the 3rd inning, RBI single by Smothers in the 3rd, MacKenzie Tack (running for English) scored on an error in the 4th and Destiny Sauders (running for Cross) scored on a sacrifice fly by Lexee Miller.
Inclement weather cancelled Tuesday’s game against Ballard Memorial. They will host Calloway County on Thursday.
