On Tuesday February 9th at 7:44 a.m. Major David Maddox was dispatched to Benton-Birmingham Road in reference to an accident with injuries. Andrew Baker 27, of Benton, advised that due to the icy road conditions he was unable to brake and turn in a curve striking Donald R. Newcomb 59, of Benton, in the left front. Newcomb was transported by Marshall County EMS to Marshall County Hospital to be treated for injuries.
